10-Sep-2004 - |
Guangzhou's package tour fees will increase by 20 percent on average during the National Day holidays, the Information Times reported Monday. Most travel agencies had released new pricing policies for the holidays Monday, the report said. Package tours to traditional tourist destinations in China and Southeast Asia will rise by 10 to 20 percent, almost the same as last year's National Day holidays. Popular destinations such as Beijing, East China cities and Hainan will rise by about 800 yuan, or more than 30 percent. Tours ranging from 2,000 (US$240) to 3,000 yuan will be the most popular for GuangZhou residents, one travel agency said. Tours to East Asia destinations will rise by 200 to 1,000 yuan, according to air fares which constitute the major part of tour fees. Some agencies have packaged destinations in theme colors to attract more customers. White refers to snowy mountains in Yunnan, Jilin and Tibet, gold will represent typical autumn scenes in Sichuan and Ningxia. Blue includes represents the seaside in Hainan and Shandong, green features mountain scenes in Huangshan, Guilin and Zhangjiajie while red is for holiday celebrations in Beijing, Tibet and Inner Mongolia. A GuangZhou travel agency said more than 1,500 people had registered for holiday tours, including 500 for the recently opened tour to European countries. More people were expected to book next week, it said. |
