Hong Kong People Enjoy Easter Break Travel
|
20-Oct-2001 - |
Hong Kong residents like to travel during the long vacations, but, even during the 4-day Easter weekend break, more than 1 million people travelled out of Hong Kong. The number of people exiting and entering Hong Kong in the four days surged to 1.17 million, according to the official Agency. However, no disorder or scuffles were reported from any port, officials with the Hong Kong Entry-Exit Administration said. With specially dispatched police to maintain order and additional checkout points, even the busy Luohu Port, at Shenzhen, in south China's Guangdong Province, which saw a peak of 180,000 person-flow on the last day of the vacation, was reported to be in great order. Passengers also expressed their satisfaction about the fast service the checkpoints offer today. "Previously, when it comes to travel season, I had to spend one hour or more queueing up for the checkout," a passenger said. "But now, the situation is different, and it's only a matter of a few seconds." "That's great," he added. |
