|
2-Apr-2002 - |
Hundreds of young people in this north Chinese port municipality had a taste of Japanese culture at an exhibition here last Friday to commemorate the establishment of Sino-Japanese diplomatic ties 30 years ago. The exhibition, jointly sponsored by Tianjin People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (TPAFFC) and theJapanese Embassy to China, is expected to allow Chinese young people more access to Japanese culture and establish a harmonious relationship between the two countries. The two-day event will feature Japanese movies, pop music show and a contest on knowledge relating to Sino-Japanese relations, organizers say. Some 400 Japanese-major Chinese students and Japanese students studying in China will participate. TPAFFC secretary-general Gong Tieying said that a good relationship had been established by older generations of both sides. Future development of the relationship will be the responsibility of younger people. "Mutual understanding in political, economic and cultural issues will be critical in consolidating Sino-Japanese friendship," said Gong. |
