Jin Jiang looking at hotels outside China
|
6-Aug-2004 - |
(www.travelweeklyeast.com 2004-08-03) China's Jin Jiang International group says it's looking at opportunities to build or acquire hotels in cities which Chinese travellers are visiting most now, such as Singapore, Hong Kong as well as Japan. In an interview with CNBC Asia, Christopher Bachran, president of Jin Jiang International Hotel Management, said: If we are going to do so, we'd look at cities where currently the outbound Chinese market goes. Those would be likely locations that we would look to develop. Jin Jiang has ambitious plans to expand from about 120 hotels - which it runs for Shanghai's massive state-owned enterprise, The Jin Jiang Group - to about 300 in the next four to five years, mostly in China first. There are first of all many cities here in China that we are not in. We are currently looking at the central region of China. We are looking at southern region of China. We are looking at the northwest region. We are well represented in Shanghai and Beijing. We have room to grow in those cities, he said. |
