Kenya Airways aims for daily to Hong Kong
|
8-Nov-2004 - |
KENYA Airways will start a fourth weekly flight from Hong Kong to Nairobi via Bangkok on December 17 using the same B767-300ER it flies on its other three weekly flights started in September 2003. It is the only airline operating between Asia and Africa with 20 fully reclining seats in business-class, in addition to 196 seats in economy. Country manager Far East, Ms Merita Ombuor, said a fifth flight would probably be introduced soon as a result of talks held in Bangkok this week between a high level delegation, including the president of Kenya, and Thai government aviation officials. "The present agreement limits us to four flights weekly, but we would like this to be extended and we are hopeful that a fifth flight can be agreed as a prelude to daily flights in the near future," she told TTG Daily News. Meanwhile, she confirmed that talks were also at an advanced stage with China, to establish links early in 2005 when the airline takes delivery of a brand new Boeing 777. She declined to specify which destination in China would be used. |
