More than 20,000 Shanghai's local residents rode on the world's first magnetic levitation rail line during the Spring Festival holidays from February 1 to 9, according to the Shanghai Maglev Transportation Development Co. The company also said the train will be open to the public on February 15,16, 22 and 23. The price of each return ticket remains 150 yuan (US$18) for normal seats and 300 yuan for VIP seats. Since the line opened for sightseeing trips on January 1, more than 40,000 people have rode on the train. Local police said they detained a ticket scalper, surnamed Hu, for five days as he was trying to sell three tickets for 220 yuan each. |
