Millennium Lushan Tower Leaning
|
26-May-2004 - |
Built during the Tang Dynasty, the millennium tower is located on Mount Lushan, which is in the northern part of Central China's Jiangxi province and best-known as a spiritual center and summer resort.
The tower called Qianfo, meaning thousands of Buddhas in Chinese is six stories high. Experts say it is leaning due to the concrete added during renovations. The sinking of the groundsill is another reason.
They suggest people pay attention to improving the environment surrounding the relic and also creating a protection plan.
