The 14th China Harbin Fair for Trade and Economic Cooperation will be held from June 15 to 21 this year in the capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

The fair is expected to strengthen provincial economic and trade cooperation with Russia, member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and East European countries.

Wang Limin, deputy governor of Heilongjiang, said at the press conference that Heilongjiang has always regarded its economic, scientific and technological cooperation with Russia as the focus of its provincial opening-up strategy.

Located in the hinterland of the northeast Asian economic zone, Heilongjiang shares a 3,000 kilometer-plus border with Russia and has 25 top-grade open ports, which have enhanced the province's foreign economic cooperation, Wang said.

To date, Heilongjiang has established cooperative relationships with over 140 countries and regions, and attracted 6.35 billion US dollars of foreign investment. Many famous international enterprises have set up branches in the province.

This year's fair will feature 2,000 indoor standard booths and 20,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition space. Around 10,000 overseas guests from about 100 countries and regions will participate in the fair.

The fair will display a number of Heilongjiang's unique and marketable products with hi-tech content, such as large-scale power equipment, heavy machinery, aircraft, auto motors, textiles, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, home electric appliances and light industrial products.

The previous 13 fairs attracted a total of over one million participants from some 80 countries and regions along with 70 billion US dollars in trade volume.
