NWA opens new air route linking Guangzhou with Tokyo

US Northwest Airlines (NWA) opened a new route Monday, linking China's southern city of Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province, with Tokyo. The new offering signifies that NWA has officially incorporated the south China economic center into its global air network, said its Asia & Pacific Chief James Mueller at the inaugural ceremony. The airline will provide six round-trip flights each week, which are scheduled to take off from the newly-built Baiyun International Airport at 7:50 a.m. (Beijing time) and return to GuangZhou at 10:35 p.m. on the same day. NWA has services reach 15 cities in the Asia and Pacific Region,said Mueller. He said the Asian passengers only have to transfer in Tokyo and will then reach eight port cities of the United States including Detroit, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Portland, San Francisco and Seattle through NWA's airlines. NWA has already opened airlines connecting Tokyo with Shanghai and Beijing, said Mueller. |
