Nepal hosts int'l mountain film festival

The third Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival 2004 kicked off here Thursday at the Russian Culture Center here.
As many as 49 documentaries featuring the Himalayas and the lifestyle of people living in the mountain areas will be shown during the four-day festival on Dec. 9-12, Ramyata Limbu, coordinator of the film festival, told Xinhua.
"Films, documentation, travel experiences and footages from 21 different countries are included in the festival," Limbu said.
The documentaries will be primarily focused on subjects including entertainment, lifestyle, informative footages and traditional documentation, he added.
The annual festival is organized by Himal Association, a non-governmental organization in Nepal, with the assistance of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, International Centerfor Integrated Mountain Development, and Nepal Tourism Board and Film Development Board of Nepal.
