Skyrail-ITM (Hong Kong) Ltd announced Tuesday the detail of its project on Hong Kong's unique new attraction -- Ngong Ping 360. Ngong Ping 360, a dynamic new tourism experience at Lantau Island of Hong Kong, combines a stunning 5.7 km cable car journey with an impressive cultural themed village and easy access to the Tian Tan Big Buddha, the world's largest, seated, outdoor, bronze Big Buddha statue. According to the director of sales and marketing of Skyrail-ITMSusan Tse, the attraction's primary components are a journey on the 5.7 km Ngong Ping Skyrail cable car and a visit to the Ngong Ping Village, which is adjacent to the Tian Tan Big Buddha. The Ngong Ping Skyrail travels between the Tung Chung and NgongPing Terminals. It is a visually spectacular 20 to 25 minutes journey providing panoramic views of the Tian Tan Big Buddha, the flora and fauna of the beautiful North Lantau Country Park, Tung Chung Bay and the Hong Kong International Airport, according to Tse. Tse said the Ngong Ping Village has been designed to reflect and maintain the cultural and spiritual integrity of the Ngong Ping area. It also incorporates several major themed attractions, namely Walking with Buddha, Monkey's Tale Theater and the Ngong Ping Tea House. The name Ngong Ping 360 derives from the area of North Lantau where the attraction's Ngong Ping Village is located and also refers to the amazing, panoramic views that guests will enjoy fromthe Ngong Ping Skyrail. It is expected to open in early 2006. |
