Pension fund may invest in HK in 2006

The central government may allow the National Social Security Fund to invest in Hong Kong in 2006, the Oriental Daily reported, quoting the fund's chairman, Xiang Huaicheng.
Xiang said preparation for the investments is in the final stage, and the fund is waiting for official approval. He declined to give details on the size of the fund's investment and types of assets under consideration. Local shares will likely benefit most from the fund's investments, the report said.
