The Department of Tourism is set to open its first tourism office in China this month.
The office, which will be located in Beijing, crystallises DoT's commitment to aggressively go after the market.
The Philippines was granted an Approved Destination Status in the early ?0s but is yet to land on the top 12 popular destinations of the Chinese.
Undersecretary Oscar Palabyab, who led a trade Mission to China last month, said establishing the tourism office in China would make coordination with tourism officials and travel agents faster and more efficient.
