Travel agents are concerned at plans to increase ticket prices on flights from Shanghai by about 10 per cent.

According to reports in local Shanghainese newspaper, increases on outbound flights are expected to rise next week. The increase follows new regulations that allow airlines to sell tickets at 25 per cent more than their face value.

The move has upset travellers planning domestic holidays during upcoming May Day break.
