Promotion of Qingdao City Held in Hong Kong

Promotion of Qingdao City, a large-scale program to attract investors from Hong Kong, was held in the Convention and Exhibition Center here recently. As host of the 2008 Olympic Games' sailing events, a batch of Olympic-related projects announced at the promotion fair aroused great interest among enterprises in Hong Kong. These projects include the Olympic water sports center, the Olympic village, a pier for yachts, the international conference center and a yachting club. Among other projects to ensure better infrastructure for hosting Olympic Games are the Qingdao Bay Bridge, construction of the subway's phase one, a sewage treatment plant and preservation and renovation of historical architectures. During the two-day fair, a total of 372 projects will be announced and expected to bring 8.7-billion-yuan (1.05 billion U.S.dollars) funds from local and foreign enterprises in Hong Kong. Four categories of investment will be highlighted throughout the fair, that is, infrastructure and Olympic-related items; shipping, logistics, high-tech items; deep processing of agriculture products and construction of trade and development zone. |
