Rapid Growth in Ethnic Areas

A White paper by the Information Office of China's State Council says the ethnic autonomous areas have experienced rapid economic growth in the past fifty years.
In the past ten years, the gross domestic product of the ethnic autonomous areas has grown 9.8 percent, higher than the country's average.
People's living condition in these areas are improving and their savings are also rising.
In 2003, GDP in ethnic areas exceeded one trillion yuan, or over 120 billion US dollars, for the first time.
