Rock paintings found

Researchers have found more than 210 ancient rock paintings that could date back 4,000 years in the Xianbei people s ancestral home in north China s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The paintings were discovered in the Ga Cave stone chamber in a valley north of the Greater Hinggan Mountains, said Cui Yueling, a researcher with the Inner Mongolia Xianbei Culture Institute.
"The rock paintings are related to ancient worship activities, which indicates the Ga Cave was not only a dwelling of the Xianbei people, but also a place of worship," Cui said.
About 3,000 ancient rock paintings have been found in areas near the Greater Hinggan Mountains. |
