Russia National Exhibition Underway in Beijing

An exhibition of a Russian-made robot, spacecraft, and high-tech communication equipment was opened in Beijing's China World Trade Centre on Wednesday.
Eight Russian states, 800 major industrial enterprises and scientific research institutions are taking part in the event, which is the largest exhibition held by Russia in China in recent years.
The Russia National Exhibition is part of activities for the Year of Russia in China.
Meanwhile, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov will visit China on Thursday to participate in the ceremony to close the Year of Russia in China. He is also scheduled to be present at the Russia National Exhibition.
A total of 100,000 people directly participated in more than 200 events throughout the symbolic year and about 300 million Chinese and Russian people observed the proceedings.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will open the Year of China in Russia in 2007. |
