|
16-Apr-2002 - |
An exhibition of works by one of the world's most famous surrealist painters, Salvador Dali, will tour Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong from April 28, 2002, to May of 2003, sources with the Art Museum of the China Millennium Monument said here last Friday. Dali, who lived from 1904 to 1989, was one of the great Spanish painters of the 20th century. His works are renowned for their fantastic dreamlike images, and he also worked in sculpture, stage scenery, photography, movies and fashion clothes. The circuit exhibition, "Salvador Dali: A Journey Into Fantasy",is the largest ever held in Asia with 370 pieces of his works. Interactive elements will for the first time be used in the exhibition to give viewers a better understanding of Dali and his works. The exhibition will be divided into three parts -- dream, religion and women -- reflecting three different themes in Dali's art. The exhibition is sponsored by the Art Museum of the China Millennium Monument and the Guangdong Provincial Art Gallery. China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO) Logistics will cooperate with the sponsors to transport all these works from Denmark and Switzerland to China. |
