China Southern Airlines has recently opened seven new flight services joining Zhengzhou, the provincial capital of Henan Province, with Paris, Los Angeles, Jakarta, Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City (a.k.a. Saigon, Vietnam), and Penang (a.k.a. George Town, Malaysia).

With this addition, China Southern Airlines has 10 international flight services linking to Henan Province, and is also planning to open new direct routes from Zhengzhou to Seoul, Nagoya, and Amsterdam.
In September 2005, China Southern Airlines adopted a "code share" system on its two routes from Zhengzhou to Singapore and to Sydney. "Code share" enables passengers to deal with routine procedures such as check-in and customs in one single instance at the Zhengzhou Airport, with one single boarding pass. Previously, passengers had to go through check-in and customs a second time at the stopover in GuangZhou before arriving at their final destination. This new system saves much time and trouble and is highly welcomed by the passengers. |
