Shanghai Tourism festival gets September start

The annual Shanghai Tourism Festival will run from September 13 to October 6, according to the city's tourism officials.
The opening night parade on Huaihai Road will get people in the festive mood. More than 20 decorated vehicles and 30 art troupes from both home and abroad will be a part of the parade.
The management committee has also planned a fireworks display to go along with the parade. Officials said the fireworks will be placed on the roofs of tall buildings.
Meanwhile, another 29 events will be on the festival's calendar. This includes the Shanghai International Fireworks Festival, Shanghai Shopping Festival, Germany Week in Shanghai and China Day in Yuyuan Garden. |
