Shanghai expects 2.4 million tourist arrivals, departures this Spring Festival

Shanghai will have 2.4 million tourist arrivals and departures during the forthcoming 7-day-long Spring Festival holiday season which will start on Thursday.
The tourism peak will be reached on Jan. 24, or the third day of the Year of Monkey according to the traditional Chinese lunar calendar, said the official.
The local meteorological department forecast that in the first three days of the Year of Monkey, the probability of rain is 20 percent, so the weather will be fine on the whole. Spring Festival is the most important festival for people of Chinese origin. It is an occasion for family reunions, and visits among friends.
