Space Trip for Chinese Youngsters

Teenagers in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong province will have an opportunity to take a trip this summer holiday to America to experience being astronauts. The two-week trip, costing close to 26,600 yuan, or about 3200 US dollars is co-sponsored by the municipal tourism bureau and NASA's sub-launch center. During the first week of the trip, the students will learn about space travel, sit in a real rocket, get a better understanding of space and some astronauts will be invited to communicate with the visiting Chinese students and share their space stories. The rest of the trip will include a visit to Disneyland and some famous universities. Both the tourism agencies in GuangZhou and the American side will designate translators and management staff to make sure the students have a convenient and happy trip. |
