Star hotels in Shenzhen get new plaques

The Shenzhen Municipal Tourism Bureau had issued new plaques for most of the 165 star-rated hotels in Shenzhen by Friday, the Daily Sunshine reported Saturday. Each plaque contains a background of the Great Wall, a slogan and the name of the authority issuing the plaque. The wording on the plaque has changed from the original "Foreign-related Tourist Hotel" to "China's Star Hotel." The authority issuing plaques is now known as the National Star Hotels Evaluation Committee instead of the National Tourism Bureau, the report said. The Shenzhen Municipal Tourism Bureau established a hotels evaluation committee to qualify the hotels below four stars and to send requests from hotels above three stars to the provincial committee for evaluation, said the report. |
