The Taiwanese China Airlines charter plane, which arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport two hours ago, left here at 11:15 a.m. Sunday (Jan.26) for Taipei via Hong Kong. More than 200 Taiwanese business people and their family members were on the plane, returning home for the traditional Chinese Spring Festival which falls on Feb. 1 this year. A welcome ceremony was held in the airport after the plane's arrival. Officials from Shanghai and the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) attended the ceremony. Wei Hsin-hsiung, general manager of the China Airlines, gave Shanghai officials a plane model as a present and thanked local officials for their support of the charter flight. The plane is scheduled to return to Taipei at 3:40 p.m. Sunday again via Hong Kong. |
