Tariff-free Taiwan fruit enters mainland market

15 categories of fruit originating from Taiwan will be exempt from importing tariff starting today (Monday). Shenzhen port, in China's southern Guangdong province, is getting ready for the clearance of the 15 types of fruits. The Shenzhen Custom and Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine have established 6 special policies to ensure smooth clearance for the fruits. Industry insiders say high prices have always been an obstacle for sales of high quality Taiwan fruit in the Chinese mainland market. But with the zero-tariff fruits entering the mainland market, their market share is expected to increase significantly. |
