Thai AirAsia will start flying to new destinations in south-east Asia and China, and will increase frequencies on many existing services in its winter schedule following the delivery of two new aircraft, the carrier announced yesterday. The delivery of its fifth aircraft in early October will let the airline start non-stop daily flights from Bangkok to Kota Kinabalu on October 21. At present the service stops at Johor. Thai AirAsia chief executive officer, Mr Tassapon Bijleveld, told TTG Daily News the airline was also taking a very close look at services from Bangkok to Hanoi, Saigon and Phnom Penh, and added services to Kunming in China's Yunnan province. Chongqing would be introduced by the first quarter of 2005. |
