Tour costs soar in Shenzhen
|
22-Dec-2003 - |
People planning overseas tours during the Spring Festival are advised to sign up as soon as possible as prices for overseas tours will soar a record average of 40 percent in Shenzhen.
The increase rate is 20 percent more than last year and the highest ever, according to travel agencies.
However, travelers to European countries will be happy to learn that there will be no great increase in the cost. An 8-day tour to Germany will cost 9,800 yuan (US$1,180), only 800 yuan more than non-peak periods.
Price rises in international airfares are contributing to the increases.
Insiders said Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia would be the most popular destinations this year.
