Trends: Taishan Mountain s arrivals exceed 3 million

The number of visitor arrivals at Taishan Mountain reached 3.68 million in the first 10 months of 2010, 18.2 percent more than the same period of last year, according to figures released by the administrative committee of the Taishan scenic spot.
Tan Yegang, the director of the administrative committee, said that it has invested 260 million yuan in the sacred ceremony for offering sacrifices to heaven and earth; 50 million yuan in building the Cai Shixi tourism product, and 30.22 million yuan into the first stage of "Digital Taishan" project.
Yang also said that 135 performances were presented during the period from May to October 2010, generating 28.83 million yuan in revenue.
Taishan Mountain is located north of the city of Tai an, in Shandong Province. One of the "Five Sacred Mountains" in China, Taishan Mountain has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. |
