UA eyes lucrative China routes
|
8-Sep-2004 - |
UNITED Airlines wants to fly from the new Baiyuan Airport in GuangZhou to Los Angeles, via Tokyo. A formal application has been made and services could begin in March. United Airlines China division, Mr Guo Zhenxiong, said the route would strengthen the airlines' service and boost services from Hong Kong. Industry analysts say most American airlines want to increase flights following the China-US aviation agreement last July. If all applications are approved, flights would increase from 54 weekly between the two countries to 249. Northwest Airlines has already said it wants to open a new route between Detroit and Guangzhou, via Tokyo, from the start of next year. |
