Urumqi to Build China's Largest Ski-Slope

Urumqi, the capital of China's northwest Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is going to expand its Tianshan ski-slope to become the biggest in the nation.
The current ski-slope will be only a small part of the whole project.
The enlarged piste has been designed to accommodate one million people, with 60 kilometers of ski runs, and the ability to hold international skiing events.
The project will take five to ten yeas to build and the first phrase is costing 50 million yuan, or about US$6 million.
This project is expected to massively boost the local's tourist industry. |
