World Geological Park Zhangjiajie Opens

Some famous scenic spots in the park attracted more than 10 thousand of visitors both from home and abroad Saturday, the first opening day. The landscape in Zhangjiajie is the result of 380 million years of nature's machinations. The natural scenic zone is best known for its towering peaks, cloaked in cloud and mist, and covered in different shades of green. Zhangjiajie was listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage in 1992 and then became the first world geological park this February. |
