Two people were killed, one went missing and eight others were injured in a yacht collision in northeast China, local sources said on Saturday evening.
The accident occurred at 20:37 p.m. Friday when a yacht with 18 tourists on board on its way to Daludao island near Dandong City in northeast China's Liaoning Province collided with another yacht 10 kilometers from the island. There were no passengers on the other yacht, which was returning from the island.
A 71-year-old man was killed on the spot. A 39-year-old woman died on the way to hospital and a 16-year-old girl, said to be the old man's granddaughter, fell into the water and is still missing.
Rescuers raced to the spot and eight injured tourists were hurried to hospital. Two of them are seriously injured, including one still in critical condition.
Neither of the helmsmen was injured.
All yacht services to Daludao island have been suspended.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
