Yellow Mountain Promotes Tourism in Shanghai

Tourists on the road from Shanghai to the Yellow Mountain (a.k.a. Huangshan Mountain) will have their driving time cut by at least 2 hours when the Anhui-Hangzhou Highway opens before the end of this year.
Critics have attacked Yellow Mountain for hiking up prices and placing a ban on the sale of instant noodles, but the Yellow Mountain's tourist officials are already working to make sure the highway makes the already famous sight even more popular.
As well as launching a promotional trip to Shanghai, the officials have put a range of policies to attract more tourists in place.
In June, children under 12 can visit Yellow Mountain free of charge if they show their household registration. From July to August, teachers and students with valid identification cards will be able to buy half-price tickets for the mountain. Teachers will also receive 50% discounts from September 9 to 11. |
