Yunnan hosts trade and tourism fair

Citizens from China and five ASEAN countries have flocked to Xishuangbanna in the southwest of China for the 10th Border-trade and Tourism Fair. The 8-day fair, which opened on Saturday, aims to promote economic, cultural and tourism links between China and ASEAN members, CCTV reported Sunday. The fair will provide business opportunities for entrepreneurs from China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos. It offers favorable conditions for business talks, commodity exhibitions and cooperation on tourism. An Arts Festival will also be held as a part of the fair. Artists from the six countries will present acts reflecting their nations' unique cultures. The fair was first held in Thailand in 1992. |
