100 Years of Beijing Photos on Show in Paris

A photo exhibition recording 100 years of Beijing scenes has opened in Paris. The show is a prelude to the Beijing Week, part of the Year of Chinese Culture in France. There are so many activities planned that Beijing Week is being stretched out to almost a whole month. Some of the highlights include a Spring Festival parade along the Champs-elysees, a live TV broadcast by France 3 and Beijing TV to celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations, and a book fair. There are also trade and economic events planned. The festival in Paris is Beijing's largest ever overseas cultural exchange event. Touching on culture, history, sports and trade, it is unprecedented in terms of breadth and volume of coverage and the number of participants. |
