173 Ancient Roman Rarities Arrive in Beijng

A total of 173 ancient Roman treasures have arrived in Beijing from Italy for an exhibition scheduled for June 1st in the National Museum. These artworks are from six different brand Italian museums including the National Archaeology Museum of Naples and the Museum of Roman Civilization, all of which include eminent treasuries of the Roman civilization. One of the items on display, the bronze Apollo sculpture, has even been perceived as peculiar in Italy. A marble Venus statue with the statue of Eros aside is estimated to be worth half a million yuan or 60,000 US dollars. The exhibition will last till November 3rd and groups of primary and middle school students will be admitted free of charge. |
