19-Oct-2004 - |
Officials with the Beijing Tourism Administration say they will have 800 star-rated hotels with 130 thousand rooms ready for the 2008 Olympic Games in the capital. Beijing currently has a total of 601 star-rated hotels, including 33 five-star, 68 four-star, and 204 three-star hotels, China Radio International reported Monday. In order to meet China's commitment to the International Olympic Committee, 200 more hotels are needed to accommodate an estimated 800,000 visitors including athletes, officials, reporters, volunteers and spectators. The officials say that Beijing has more than 4,000 non-rated establishments with over half a million rooms, and an annual average of 100 hotels have been rated in the last few years. |
