AsiaInfo Holdings, Inc., a leading provider of software, solutions and services to telecom operators and enterprises in China, today announced that it has signed a contract with Air China, a leading Chinese airline, to provide a Business Intelligence (BI) solution to its corporate offices in China.

AsiaInfo will provide Air China with a comprehensive system to enhance the airline's monitoring of its business performance and to support its strategic analysis and decision making. Key components of the business intelligence solution being provided include budget forecasting, profit and loss analysis, data support, and financial information management.

"Flexible, timely and easy-to-use BI software is an increasingly common need for corporations like Air China that are looking to increase their efficiency and profitability," noted Mr. Xingsheng Zhang, AsiaInfo's President and Chief Executive Officer.

"This contract represents a strategic breakthrough for our BI solutions into a new vertical market and demonstrates that our efforts to enhance the marketing and sales of our enterprise solutions are paying off," continued Mr. Zhang. "The acquisition of Lenovo's IT services business, which we recently announced, will further accelerate our development as a leading provider of enterprise solutions and will create more opportunities in the future. Going forward, we expect that BI solutions will be a key growth driver for our new Lenovo-AsiaInfo enterprise solutions business."

Under the terms of the contract, AsiaInfo will implement the solution during the third quarter in Air China's Beijing headquarters as well as its South West, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Tianjin and Inner Mongolian branches, and Air China Cargo.

With 23,000 employees throughout its nationwide offices, Air China had business revenues of US$2.8 billion in 2002, and is a major player in China's airline industry. The company had previously contracted AsiaInfo to deploy its eHRM solutions.
