Beijing Expo Draws World's Top 500 Companies

Important international political figures, world-renowned authorities and the heads of the world's top 500 companies will participate the Beijing International High-tech Expo, making it a world-famous one. The comment was made on by Chen Gang, administrative vice secretary-general of the 5th China Beijing International High-tech Expo organizing committee and president of the Beijing Trade Promotion Association. The expo, which will run from May 23 to 28, has attracted more international participants than in previous years. They include such political figures as Lee Kuan Yew, senior minister of the prime minister's office of Singapore, Robert James Lee Hawke, former Australian prime minister, and former Italian prime minister Gianni De Michelis, as well as leaders of famous international institutions and organizations. Paul Greengard, the Nobel Medicine Prize Winner for 2000, Michael Spence, the Nobel Economics and Science Winner for 2001, and other distinguished scientists and economists will explain their latest research findings during the high-level forums. Meanwhile, more than 20 leaders of the world's top 500 companies, including ABB Group, Carrefour Group, Citibank and Motorola Inc., and leading figures in finance and security will give speeches on global high-tech and related fields. Over 50 countries and regions will send 68 delegations to participate in expo activities. |
