Beijing-Tianjin high-speed rail tracks laid down

Tracks are now being laid for the Beijing-Tianjin high-speed rail project. The rail, the first of its kind in China, is a major auxiliary project for next summer's Beijing Olympics.
Operation is scheduled to begin before the Olympics.Travel time between Beijing and Tianjin will be cut in half to 30 minutes.
The rail is using the world's most advanced technologies, such as ballastless track systems. Major advantages include a longer maintenance period, less dust and noise, and smoother tracks to ensure the safety of high-speed travel. |
