Beijing fully opens Hutong tour
|
04-Dec-2006 - cnta |
Beijing has become a world-renowned tourism terminal because of its deep cultural and historical background. The Hutong tour service opened recently has surely added to its charms.
Hutongs (the word for alleys in Chinese) may mean nothing to Beijingers, but they are good windows for foreigners to reveal China's mystery by themselves, thus travel agencies in Beijing have started to offer this timely convenience.
The tour starts from Gulou ( Drum Tower), where there are many long-standing Hutongs.
The travellers will have a sightseeing journey in these Hutongs on a ride of tricycles.
They can take a close look at the life of Beijingers in quadrangles. The terminal of the tour is Prince Gong's Mansion, where tourists can feel the touch of history.
This 2-hour tour usually costs no more than 200 yuan, accompanied by tour guides who can speak Chinese, English and Japanese. |
