China to hold first world summit of commercial organizations

The World Leadership Cooperative Conference of Industrial and Commercial Organizations are scheduled to be held in Beijing on May 9-10. The summit, called "Associations and Economic Globalization", will be the first of its kind in the world, said Lin Zongtang, president of the China Federation of Industrial Economics (CFIE) at a press conference recently. Lin, also chairman of the organizing committee, said that more than 300 commercial organizations from over 60 countries and regions will confer on the roles and status of commercial organizations in the process of economic globalization. The conference will be held at the joint sponsorship of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the CFIE and other relevant Chinese governmental departments. |
