He called on the society to respect talents sand value knowledge. Vice Premier Wu told deputies from Tianjin Municipality in north China that emphasis should be placed on sustainable growth of state-owned enterprises in the future and cultivation of conglomerates with an internationally competitive edge. In panel discussions with deputies from central Hubei Province, Vice Premier Wen called for giving priority to developing agriculture and the rural economy, and increasing the farmers' income.
