Flag Raising Ceremony Gets a Makeover

The raising of the Chinese flag at Tian'anmen Sqaure in Beijing is a poplar tourist attraction, and this month it's getting a make over. Currently the national anthem is played live three times a month, but now two performances have been removed from the ceremony. On the first day of every month, a military band of 62 musicians will give a live performance as the escort raises the flag. On the other days, the flag will be hoisted to recorded accompaniment.
