Macao SAR Government Opens Beijing Office

The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) has opened an office in Beijing in a bid to build closer ties with central government and mainland China. Chinese Vice-Premier Qian Qichen told a reception party at the Great Hall of the People that the SAR's Beijing Office would help develop exchanges and cooperation in various fields. Edmund Ho, chief executive of the SAR, expressed thanks to the central government for its support of the SAR administration's work. He said the Macao SAR government would further develop cooperation with inland areas and the Beijing Office was an important step to enhance liaison. |
