On trail of Polo

We are an international group of cyclists who will take an overland travel from Beijing, China to Venice, Italy. This trip will follow Marco Polo's route, but instead of four years, we will do it in about four months. We are planning this trip in order to complete a story started by a group of nine Italian bikers. They did the trip in reverse in 2001, and left a bike with Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee with the hope that a group would ride it back to Venice. Currently we have three confirmed team members, one American and two Chinese. Our target is to have six to eight people. We hope more people interested in this adventure will be able to join us. We believe through this adventure, we will able to promote mutual understanding among all countries on the silk road, promote Beijing Olympic, also encourage adventurous spirit among young people.
