|
2-Dec-2004 - |
Ticket prices for six World Cultural Heritage Sites are set to rise. Ticket prices for six World Cultural Heritage Sites are set to rise. The six sites involved are the Imperial Palace, the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven, and two of the tombs in The Ming Tombs complex. Up till now, entrance charges for the six sites were relatively low when compared with other tourist spots in China. According to the Beijing govenment this made maintaining and protecting these heritage sites difficult. In response the local government decided to raise tickets prices accordingly. Entrance to the Imperial Palace, for example, will increase to 80RMB and 100 RMB, depending on the season, from the current 40RMB and 60RMB respectively. When the price hikes will come into effect has not yet been decided. |
