15-Jun-2004 - |
The US state of Nevada opened a tourism office in Beijing, the first of its kind among all American states. Lieutenant Governor Lorraine Hunt said, the office will be the window for Chinese people to understand western America and provide convenience for American people travel in China. Over 100 years ago, Chinese railway and mine workers contributed to Nevada's development. Now tourism has built a bridge for the two sides. State Tourism Director Bruce Bommarito welcomed Chinese visitors to appreciate the West cowboys show, the magnificent Grand Canyon or try their luck in Las Vegas. He hoped the direct air link will be soon open between Beijing or Shanghai to Nevada. America's seventh largest state, Nevada is the most mountainous state in the United States and world's third gold mining place. |
