At that time, Quzhou municipal government decided to develop the civilian airport and build Quzhou Airport in accordance with the economic and social development of the actual and long-term development needs as well as the urgent desire of the community. On July 1991, the State Council and Central Military Commission approved Quzhou Airport as a civilian and military airport. On November 30, 1992, Air Terminal building started and was completed and put into use on November 26, 1993.
After the using of Quzhou Airport, they have overcome many difficulties and established cooperation with more than 10 domestic airline one after another. It has connects to Quzhou, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Wenzhou, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, Nanjing, Qingdao, Shenzhen, Haikou and other cities. It has handles more than 5000 flights and more than 1000 tons of goods. Since 1993, it has ensured the safety of the flight. There are 4 routes to Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Haikou. It handles 12 round-trip flights per week.
